Find glowing skin in 2024

Find glowing skin in 2024

It’s Jessica here, the Founder of Skin Botanist. A very happy New Year to our glowing skin community. This time of year is a great catalyst for reflection and goal setting and I really hope that caring for your skin in the healthiest way possible has made the list!

We have exciting things happening in the Skin Botanist lab. We’ll shortly be launching our Nourish Balm which is a beautiful multipurpose balm with an olive oil base that is nut-free and essential-oil free making it perfect for sensitive and problematic skin. It’s also completely safe for the littlest members of our community. And, like all Skin Botanist products, you won’t find a single drop of unnecessary fillers or chemicals - just concentrated amounts of the good stuff.

To ensure we’re completely inclusive for all skincare preferences and needs, our Face Balm is undergoing some testing for a vegan alternative (replacing the beeswax with gorgeous candelilla wax).

SKIN GOALS FOR 2024

If you’re new to natural skincare, understanding its deep benefits can take some time. My journey to converting completely to natural products started 15 years ago when I first became aware of my autoimmune condition and wanted to find a holistic way to heal. It’s been a deep and long rabbit hole of research and experimenting since then.

But not everyone has the time or inclination to follow the same path of inquiry, so we’re here to simplify it for you.

If you only do 3 things this year to honour your skin I would recommend the following:

  1. Read the labels of your current skincare, cosmetics and personal care products. Even if you don’t understand the scientific jargon. At least start to observe what’s going on. Ask some questions - is the list particularly long? Is aqua (or water) the first ingredient? Is the brand transparent or is the marketing spin only highlighting one or two active ingredients which happen to be in tiny concentrations buried in that long list? An inquiring mind will be your best asset.

  2. Step out of your comfort zone. If you haven’t used oil-based skincare before and you’re scared your skin will be left looking like you could fry an egg on it, put your fear aside and give it a go! You just might surprise yourself and finally treat your skin to the deep hydration it has been craving without all the toxic nonsense filling mainstream products. We offer a great Sampler Bundle for you to test the waters.

  3. Wear sunscreen everyday. While we don’t formulate sunscreen at Skin Botanist (yet!), we understand the importance it plays in caring for your skin and health. Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Do your research, protect your skin. And rest assured, sunscreen sits beautifully over the top of our Face Oil and Face Balm, just give them a couple of minutes to settle in before applying.

LOW-TOX TRIBE

And finally, to close this post off I want to give a heartfelt thanks to some wonderful health-focused influencers who have kindly shared the word about Skin Botanist to their communities without any compensation or partnership negotiations. They are honest, genuine women who are actively trying to help their communities achieve health in their areas of expertise and they openly took our products for a test run and shared the word because they genuinely loved the results they experienced.
