Jessica founded Skin Botanist after years of questioning what belonged on her own skin. From working a Clinique counter in Sydney at sixteen, to a corporate communications career, to an autoimmune diagnosis and fertility journey, she became a passionate advocate for truly clean beauty: formulas with purpose, clarity and fewer compromises.
That instinct to go back to nature and back to basics was also personal. Jessica's Lebanese great-grandmother made olive oil soaps by hand, a family thread that reminded her skincare did not need to be crowded, confusing or over-marketed to be effective.
During the pandemic, that questioning became formal study. Jessica earned qualifications in organic skincare formulation and began developing concentrated botanical balms through a more disciplined lens: ingredient function, skin feel, barrier support, texture, scent and the role each material plays in the finished formula.
Skin Botanist has grown from those first formulas into a botanical skincare house built around research-informed ingredient selection and clear formulation logic. Every oil, butter, wax and botanical inclusion needs a reason to be there, whether it is chosen for cushion, slip, richness, occlusion, aroma, skin comfort or the way it supports a simpler routine.
The result is traditional botanical care shaped by modern formulation standards, documentation and a growing body of customer experience with skin that has had enough.
