Why we leave water out

Active ingredients, not active marketing

Conventional moisturisers are mostly water. Skin Botanist is anhydrous (pronounced an-HY-drus, meaning not a drop of water is in our formulas). Every gram earns its place. Think soothing apricot kernel oil, hydrating jojoba oil, nourishing mango butter, protective beeswax, every ingredient chosen with intention.

That means more concentrated formulas, fewer preservatives, and oils that work with your skin barrier rather than sitting on top of it. Anhydrous is harder to formulate, slower to make and costs more. We do it anyway.
