Botanist note
Because these products are made with pure oils and butters and no synthetic stabilisers, you may notice slight batch-to-batch variation in colour or texture. This reflects the natural character of the ingredients, not a product fault. Any graininess in the balm is cosmetic only and resolves easily with gentle warming. Read our guide here.
How to use
Morning: Press 3-5 drops of face oil into clean, damp skin. Warm a small amount of balm between fingertips and press over the top to seal.
Night: Apply the face oil first. Follow with a thicker layer of balm as an overnight mask.
Who it's for
You want no fragrance, no essential oils, and no synthetic preservatives in your face routine. It is made for skin that feels reactive, eczema-prone, fragrance-sensitive, barrier-damaged or simply tired of being overworked.
If you prefer a light botanical scent and do not need a strict sensitivity routine, try the Nourish & Renew Ritual.
How it's made
Every product in this ritual is handcrafted in Australia in small batches using ethically sourced botanicals and certified organic ingredients. Free from synthetic fragrances, essential oils, preservatives and fillers. Always cruelty-free.
FAQs
Is this suitable for eczema-prone skin? Yes. The ritual is free from common eczema triggers in skincare: fragrance, essential oils, synthetic preservatives, alcohol and fillers. Patch test first.
What makes a waterless balm different for sensitive skin? No water means no preservatives are needed. Many common preservatives (phenoxyethanol, parabens) are frequent triggers for sensitive skin. Removing them removes a major reactivity risk.
Can I use this if I have a fragrance allergy? Yes. There is no fragrance of any kind in this ritual, including no essential oils.
Is this suitable for rosacea-prone skin? The ritual avoids the most common rosacea triggers: fragrance, essential oils, alcohol, harsh actives and synthetic preservatives. Always patch test, and consult your dermatologist for active rosacea.
Why our skincare looks different
Most skincare is 70 to 80% water. Once it dries, what's left is fragrance, preservatives and a thin film of actives. We remove the water entirely.
Every Skin Botanist formula is anhydrous - concentrated botanical oils, butters and waxes, with nothing diluted. Cold-blended by hand in Victoria, Australia, in small batches small enough that we notice if a butter sets differently or a scent lifts stronger. The texture is richer. A little goes further. Skin feels nourished, not coated.
